RECOMMENDED READING MATERIALS

Bibles, Books, and Publications Revealing the Hebraic Understanding of Scripture and other Messianic Resources.  Books and commentaries are only tools and do not replace the need to read the inspired Word of God.  If you are not in the Word of HaShem daily, start there.  We do not agree with every point and theory discussed the all these resources.  Again, be in the Word daily, check everything you read against the inspired Word of God, but be open to the possibility that traditional "Christian" thinking may be incorrect on some topics.

Now, the most widely used Messianic Jewish Bible around the world, has updated text with introductions added to each book, written from a biblically Jewish perspective. The CJB is a unified Jewish book, a version for Jews and non-Jews alike; to connect Jews with the Jewishness of the Messiah, and non-Jews with their Jewish roots. Names and terms are returned to their original Hebrew and presented in easy-to-understand transliterations, enabling the reader to say them the way Yeshua (Jesus) did

Readers will be enriched through this Jewish reading of Scripture and the revelation of the long-awaited Messiah, Yeshua, throughout both the Tanakh (Old Testament) and the B’rit Hadashah (New Testament).
This Study Bible has many key features making it a useful resource.

Torah Living.jpg

From the early centuries of the common era, there were always groups of people who believed that Yeshua (Jesus) was the promised Messiah of the Tanach (Old Testament) and also continued to live in accordance with the teaching and laws of Torah.  In our own times, A renewed interest in the value of the Torah has taken place, with many who affirm their faith in Yeshua as their Messiah and Savior also desiring to live in accordance with the Torah–its divine wisdom and guidance for all areas of our life.

Messiah in Passover.jpg

Messiah in the Passover is for anyone who wants to explore the traditions of the Passover and deepen their understanding of the links between Passover, the Last Supper, and Communion.

This book discusses biblical and theological issues, Jewish and church history, and rabbinic tradition. It also includes a messianic family Haggadah (Passover guidebook) as well as Passover recipes and lessons for children.   Believers will be affirmed knowing they worship a God who keeps His promises and remains ever faithful

Letter Writer.jpg

The majority of studies on Paul have taken a similarly incorrect perspective.

In the Letter Writer, Tim Hegg reveals a different Paul—one who maintained his Jewish identity and love of Torah; an Apostle of Yeshua the Messiah who not only lived an obedient Torah-life himself, but expected those he taught to do the same. Paul is seen to be both the Apostle of grace and of Torah, because the Torah, when received in the context of faith in Yeshua, is God’s revelation of sanctifying grace.

Gods Appointed Times.jpg

The biblical holy days are not just for Jews. Christians, too, can receive the blessing of these glorious days, the greatest object lessons in the Bible.  God gave each day to teach his people about him and his relationship to them. From the Sabbath, which pictures eternity, to the popular holiday, Hanukkah, mentioned by name only in the gospel of John, the special times were set apart to bless the people of God.
In this book, Barney Kasdan, leader of Kehilat Ariel of San Diego, one of the largest Messianic congregations in the world, explains every holy day described in Scripture

Restoration is a riveting argument for a return to that original, biblical expression of faith in Jesus the Messiah, the Rabbi from Nazareth. Discover for yourself the profound beauty of Messianic Judaism, Torah life, the celebration of the biblical Sabbath, and the appreciation of God's holy festivals. Your eyes will be opened to another dimension of the faith that is beginning to re-emerge among Christians worldwide.
This thought-provoking, theological boat-rocker is a fun-to-read, inspiring journey into the world of the Bible while answering common theological objections.

Romans Tim Hegg.jpg

In this excellent work on the Epistle to the Romans, Tim Hegg gives a fresh perspective on Paul’s largest work. Tim approaches this text from the perspective that Paul did not speak against the Torah but upheld it as God’s eternal and inspired revelation. This fresh look at Paul gives the reader insights into Romans that perhaps have not been considered before.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

Many of these books are great reads (some are easier than others) but keep in mind that we feel there is worthy material in them only.  Some authors may have very differing views that we may or may not agree with.

Take Hold_edited_edited_edited.jpg

This an essential book for those amoung the church world to see how the Old Testament Sciptures, Covenants, Land, and people are still valid today. For Jews, this can show how Yeshua and his disciples didn't start a new religion or forsake the teachings of the Torah, but that He was the one to whom the Tanakh pointed to. The book deals mainly with Old Testament Law and Prophecy.  Towards the end, the book explains how to reconcile seemingly "contradictory" passages from the New Testament and gives a more scripturally cohesive interpretation.

Torah Rediscovered.jpg

Torah Rediscovered lovingly challenges readers, Jewish and non-Jewish alike, to take an honest new look at the true nature of the first five books of the Bible (the Torah). Torah Rediscovered reveals the beauty and depth of God’s divine covenantal revelation. In doing so, Torah Rediscovered attempts to demonstrate to all who seek to understand it how its divinely inspired pages can help them to learn in greater depth what it means to be new creations in Messiah.

Yeshua revealed in the Feasts.jpg

If you are Jewish and you are reading this book , I pray that your eyes will be opened to see Yeshua as the Messiah. If you’ve ever wanted to get to know Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah, the Good News of Matthew is the best place to start. Yet, few commentators are able to truly present Yeshua in his Jewish context. Most don’t understand his background, his family, even his religion, and consequently really don’t understand who he really is.

That may sound strange, but in order to provide the historical and cultural setting of his day, a commentator needs to be well versed with first-century Jewish practices and thought, not the least of which are the “traditions of the Elders” that Yeshua so often spoke about. Fortunately, we have a commentator who understands the Jewish Jesus and his connection to the rabbinical ways of his day.

This site now has commentaries on many more New Covenant books.  Check them all out
