SCRIPTURES ON A LIFE DEDICATED TO ADONAI

WHAT DOES A LIFE DEDICATED TO ADONAI LOOK LIKE?

These are a few of our favorite scriptures on Living a Life Dedicated to Adonai.  Please feel free to send us verses to feature at the top of this list and on the top of the "Living" page.

1 JOHN 2:6 "WHOEVER SAYS HE ABIDES IN HIM OUGHT TO WALK IN THE SAME WAY IN WHICH HE WALKED."

John 14:15 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments"

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Torah?”

37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire Torah and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 5-18-19 "18 Amen, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or serif shall ever pass away from the Torah until all things come to pass. 19 Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

Jude 20-22 "20 But you, loved ones, continue building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Ruach ha-Kodesh. 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, eagerly waiting for the mercy of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who are wavering— 23 save them by snatching them out of the fire; but on others have mercy with fear—hating even the garment defiled by the flesh."

Ephesians 5:15-20 “15 So pay close attention to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise. 16 Make the most of your time because the days are evil. 17 For this reason do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 And do not get drunk on wine, for that is recklessness.[c] Instead, be filled with the Ruach (Spirit), 19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music in your heart to the Lord— 20 always giving thanks for everything to God the Father, in the name of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.”

1 John 3:6-9 6 No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning; no one who sins has seen Him or known Him. 7 Children, let no one mislead you! The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Yeshua is righteous. 8 The one who practices sin is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. Ben-Elohim appeared for this purpose—to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one born of God practices sin, because God’s seed remains in him. He cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Colossians 3:23-24 “23 Whatever you do, work at it from the soul, as for the Lord and not for people. 24 For you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as a reward. It is to the Lord Messiah you are giving service.”

Proverbs 21:21 “Whoever pursues righteousness and mercy finds life, prosperity and honor.”

Proverbs 21:15 “Doing justice brings joy to the righteous, and terror to those who do evil.”

Mark 8:36-38 “36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? 37 For what could a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this unfaithful and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels!”

Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

1 Peter 3:10-12

“The one who loves life,
    wanting to see good days,
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit.
11 He must turn away from evil and do good.
He must seek shalom and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of Adonai are on the righteous
and His ears open to their prayer,
but the face of Adonai is against those who do evil.”

- This is one of many First Century creeds, this one quoting Psalm 34, documented in the Brit Chadashah (New Covenant scriptures) that dates to shortly after the crucifixion.

2 Corinthians 5:7 “7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Psalm 119:1-3 “Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the Torah of Adonai.
2 Happy are those who keep His testimonies,
who seek Him with a whole heart,
3 who also do no injustice, but walk in His ways.”

- Really all of Psalm 119 should be listed here.

1 John 3:23-24 "23 Now this is His commandment—that we should believe in the name of His Son, Yeshua the Messiah, and love one another, just as He commanded us. 24 The one who keeps His commandments abides in God, and God in him. We know that He abides in us by this—by the Spirit He has given us."

Psalm 31:3-4 “Turn Your ear to me, rescue me quickly.
Be a rock of refuge for me, a stronghold for my deliverance.
4 Since You are my rock and my fortress,
You lead me and guide me for Your Name’s sake.”

Psalm 25:4-5 “4 Show me Your ways, Adonai.
Teach me Your paths.
5 Guide me in Your truth, and teach me,
for You are God, my salvation,
for You I wait all day.”

Romans 12:2 “2 Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so a person sharpens the countenance of his friend.”

Proverbs 4:24 “Put away perversity from your mouth,
and keep devious lips far from you.”

Psalm 37:8 “Put away anger and turn from wrath.
Do not fret—it only leads to doing evil.”

Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices!”

John 6:35 “35 Yeshua said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty.”

Deuteronomy 30:16 “16 What I am commanding you today is to love Adonai your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His mitzvot, statutes and ordinances. Then you will live and multiply, and Adonai your God will bless you in the land you are going in to possess.”

Proverbs 13:3 “3 He who watches his mouth protects his life,
but whoever opens wide his lips comes to ruin.”

Psalm 23 “A psalm of David.
Adonai is my shepherd, I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
    for His Name’s sake.

4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for You are with me:
Your rod and Your staff comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You have anointed my head with oil, my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of Adonai forever.”

Hebrews 12:14  “14 Pursue shalom with everyone, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.”

Matthew 16:25-26 “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Jacob (James) 3:13 “13 Who among you is wise and understanding? By his good conduct let him show his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.”

John 7:37-38 37 On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Yeshua stood up and cried out loudly, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture says, ‘out of his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”

Proverbs 10:17 “17 One who heeds discipline is on the path of life, but whoever ignores correction goes astray.”
